"Bae"

Bae told us it was time for her to rest in peace in April of 2010. She hiked up until a month before her death, but faded quickly in that last month. Her heart was strong, but her body gave out and it was with much sadness that we let her go.

“They are not gone who live in the hearts they left behind.”

Bae is the foundation of much that is right about Maverick Whippets. Her daughter, Bandana, produced three successful litters and their influence has been tremendous. At the age of 12, Bae is now content to spend much of her time luxuriating on pillows in my office. She’s still up for the occasional hike and still has strong opinions on various issues. The whole posse knows when to give her a wide berth, but there is no more gentle or loving dog on the planet.
